Day 9 ~
Hebrews 12:11 ~ For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Discipline shouldn't be a dirty word.
If you are free to eat what you want to eat when you want to eat it and as much of it as you want to eat then you will soon lose freedoms once enjoyed.
You will be captive to low self-esteem, be held hostage by a CPAP machine, jailed by hypertension, and imprisoned by high blood pressure. You will be free to have continued mouth pleasure but lose much joy and dignity.
To live a self-disciplined life as it relates to diet, exercise, and supplementation does mean that you won't get to eat what you want when you want it and as much of it as you want but it does mean you will live a more abundant and healthy life in so many other respects.
I have lost more than 100 pounds and no longer require four different prescription medications. I don't get to eat whatever I want every day but it's a great exchange because before Shibboleth I was emotionally and physically miserable. I was even miserable during and after overindulging.
Now, I easily maintain my weight eating Shibboleth style four days each week while taking off three days each week. If I put on 5-10 pounds I go back to the basics and only have six "off" days each month until I am back below my happy weight.
Shibboleth is a lifestyle, a management system if you will, that allows you to live a self-discipline life without feeling deprived.
I used to use food as a solution for all of my problems; fear, anxiety, stress, boredom, etc. Now I use food correctly. I use it to sustain me and occasionally, I use it for celebratory reasons. Shibboleth is FUN!
Self-discipline IS freedom.
