I never thought I'd share these publicly, but here we are. There may be someone out there who needs to read and see this.๐When I look at these "before" and "in progress" photos, I'm reminded that I chose my health 6 months ago and gave myself the best gift.๐ I was never one to get down on myself because of my weight (because I love to eat!), but I always knew it wasn't healthy and I was often so uncomfortable in my body.
I'm down 40 lbs and 23.25 inches total!๐ฎ I'm amazed at how my body has transformed physically, how I can move and not be in pain, and how I've stopped fidgeting with my clothing all day. THIS is success to me. I'm down from size 16/18 (sometimes 20), 2X tops and wide width shoes to size 14s, large tops and narrower shoes. Sizes are weird though, so it's not a major point, but it IS nice shopping in a new section.
However, a dear friend who is on this journey with me gave me bags of her old sizes, so I'm set for the year! ๐ I enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas with zero guilt and ate what I wanted. I now have a reliable plan that gets me back to fat burning ๐ฅ and to my goals the very next day. I lost 30 of these pounds in my first 2 months and I've easily maintained and/or lost more since. I still have another 25 to go and then I'll reassess.
Yesterday, my rheumatologist said I looked great and she's so happy my joint pain is gone and she moved my appointments from every 3 months to 6!๐๐พ The past 6 months were going to pass anyway and so are the next 6...and I'm glad I have a plan and hope for continued health and FUN focusing on what I'm eating and walking. Being beholden to the gym is not a key part of this lifestyle, thank God.๐ My next goal is to play tennis again and I know it'll happen! Stay tuned...
