Description

When a recipe calls for onion, substitute shallots.  Its a more delicate flavor and interesting as well.

Shallots are used as condiments due to their higher carbohydrate content.  Overall, they are not very high in calories, but almost all calories come from carbs and very few come from protein.  So it is important to pay attention to the short (yellow) and long term (0) health and metabolic meters.  Shallots are high in many nutrients and that is why it is not rated worse, but its overall in relation to our program, does not get a higher rating than it has.  It will not help in boosting metabolic rate, and will not hinder in your weigh loss either.  As always, use your bullet proof shield for combinations and portions.
