Description

Originally bred by the Zapotec Indians of Oaxaca, Mexico, the bright red fruits of this tomato are deeply pleated in appearance - which added to the often squat shape can make them look quite odd!

Don't let the shape put you off though as the flavour is truly sublime; sweet and intense the fruits are extremely fleshy with a hollow centre - perfect for grilling, frying or stuffing. Cut into slices, the pleated fruits really do look pretty.
